Knot

Privacy

Updated 31 August 2026

This notice is for Knot, the document signing app at knot.legal. It is operated by Klime B.V., Herengracht 551, 1017 BW Amsterdam. Reach us at hello@knot.legal.

It does not describe the Klime workspace product. That has its own policy on klime.com.

Who is involved

A sender is a GitHub user who publishes a file and shares a link. A signer is anyone who opens that link, confirms an email, and signs. The link is the invitation. We do not check that the mailbox belongs to a named person at the customer.

What we collect

From senders: GitHub identity, name, email, and the document they publish.

From signers: the email they confirm, the name and other fields they type, their signature image, IP address, browser, the time they agreed and signed, and a hash of the sealed copy.

Who sees the sealed copy

The signer and the sender each get a copy. Klime staff can open it when you ask us to, or when we must for security or law.

Processors

Vercel hosts the app. Neon hosts the database. Sealed files sit in Vercel Blob. Resend sends the confirmation code and emails both parties the signed copy.

How long we keep it

We keep the sealed copy and the signing record so both parties can prove what was signed. There is no self-serve delete. Email hello@knot.legal if you need a copy removed.

Electronic signatures

A signing here is a simple electronic signature (SES) under eIDAS.
